I am a concerned parent. As an Asian, education is among the
top in my priorities.
Not all parents share my views. But I state mine
nonetheless. I took a good look at the markets and industries today. And I find
that I have dreams, hopes and expectations for my child.
There are many paper chasers in the markets. There are many
scholars and foreign talents too. It seems that the competition is stiff and
there remains little hope for the local kid.

OC: CO did encourage commanders to give more autonomy. I leave it to you.
PC: Ok, Sir.
Half and hour later,
PC: Sir, I have decided NOT to deploy the op.
OC: What?!
PC: Sir, I repeat. I don't want the op.
OC: OK.... erm... I think you better do the op. Setup the op.
PC: Sir, with all due respect, you said I am to decide....
OC: Deploy the OP!
PC: Yes, Sir.
PC: Sergeants, deploy the op.
SGTs: Sir!? What the Fk! We spent half an hour discussing....!
PC: OC wants it! Just deploy it!
SGTs: Then why the Fk did he ask you to decide just now?
PC: How the Fk should I know? You do Fk*** ask him yourself.

An EFFECTIVE government

When the tsunami hit our friends in Indonesia, Russia sent an entire team for medical support. They had more equipment, their men were bigger and stronger.
Sounds good, right?
But they were perhaps, the least effective in the aid for the tsunami hit town.
The Russian team did not know what to do. And their equipment were not helpful.
In fact, their team took up so much space but could do little to help.
As a LEADER, even as a highly ranked Administrator, helping the subordinates or people under your charge is more than a desire.
As a LEADER FOR SINGAPOREANS, the hands must match the heart. Taking action to help must be considered carefully. Otherwise, like our Russian counterparts, it's better NOT TO DO anything at all.
There is a term we use when communicating over comm sets and signal sets when on a mission. It's called NOISE discipline. We can't have everyone sending or barking commands and information over the network.

Dear Administrator,
when I see a child behaving badly, I correct the problem. When I see someone local or expat injured in an accident, I help out.
That is my contribution as a citizen. As a human being. Such values are important.
All other forums have several moderators to keep the forum within rules and guidelines.
I realise that EVERYONE except myself have posted THEIR ENTIRE text in the ARTICLE SUMMARY portion rather than the ARTICLE DETAILS portion.
If something is wrong, do you correct it? Please do. It's jamming up the entire Blog Us section. It's becoming irritating. Long pages. If the current layout is not helpful for our users, then some changes may be helpful.
And I myself am currently posting my entire text in the summary section. Irritating isn't it?
I believe ALL here knows the difference between summary and details.
Let's do our parts. To make this site better and more effective.

For the last few months, I have come to appreciate this country in several ways. For the last few months, I remained a silent member of this forum; viewing without a login... without sarcaism or complaints.
But recently, I saw an advertisement on tv which reflects my countrymen's stupidity. If you are interested in first principles and values, please read on.
