GST Hike - Woes of Middle Income Earners

i definitely agree with all that GST hikes is necessary. However, they benefit the low income groups. The high income eanrers can't be bothered by the paltry increase in expenditure. That leaves the middle income earners. The only the govt says is that the restoration of CPF will be the interim measures to look after the middle income group. But I am self employed, restoration of CPF does nothing for me.

In addition, a 2% hike in GST is a whopping big amount when we buy a property. a $500k property translates to $10,000 more in fees which I don't think is necessary! After all, what service are we talking about? Not to mention the legal fees we pay and the stamp fees. And why must stamp fees be a percentage of the property's value? After all, the work done is the same be it a $10million property or a $100k one, is it not?
