Budget 2007

It is definitely a plus to have the employer CPF contribution increase of 1.5%. But I feel that it is very little as compared to the 2% GST hike.

Though report says that economy has picked up. But most salaries have not up much. Just for example, the place that I'm working in has pay-freeze for the last 5 years. Some of my peers also experienced pay cut due to layoff.

We can eat less and spend less. But we can't stint when come to children's education. I see many developed country giving free education to their junior citizen. I thought, maybe, we can help reducing the burden of the parents by providing free Primary and Secondary education for Citizens. Also, a cheaper teritory education. This helps to lift the education level of the citizen and lower the cost of bringing up children which in turn might boost up the reproductivity rate of Singapore.
