Not good enough for the government
By Steven Meow @ 10:04 AM :: 339 Views :: 0 Comments :: The Young Ones, Women, Far and Away: Overseas Singaporeans, The Physically Challenged, The Golden Years : Elderly, REACH Events/Activities/Workgroup Activities, Aspirations for REACH, General

I don't think the government are doing good enough to help the people with financial difficulties. The waiting time is very long and may not be successful. Why they took so long? An example here, nearly 6mths ago, I applied renting flat from HDB as both of my parent has divorce and the currently that I am living will need to be sold. My parent had sold the flat and 1 more mth left for me to move out from the flat. My application for my renting flat haven reply me. So till the date comes, where do i sleep? All my relatives and friends are not colse to me and they not willing to help. Zzz The best part is I'm right now serving ns. Even the ns department also haven reply my request. Ns pay only how much, not enough to rent room from private. I still need to take care my younger brother and my mother who is unable to work because of her physical conditions.

HDB said flat will be given to those who more in needs. So what does it means? They can't just reply not enough flats to rent or sorry can't help it. Government can't/unable to  help their own citizen. Solve the problem and not throw away.

Government are too rich so they won't understand the poor people.

In Singapore, there are people who are homeless and the sleep on the streets wherever they go. So we can't really say that Singapore is rich but only the government are rich.

Government earn so much money for what? Share the money with the people la. They have so much money to build in IR why can't help us?

What do you think?
By Steven Meow @ 10:56 AM :: 269 Views :: 2 Comments :: :: The Young Ones, Women, The Physically Challenged, The Golden Years : Elderly, REACH Events/Activities/Workgroup Activities, Aspirations for REACH, General

Some anyone tells me is education more important or money more important? I had once asked the question to one of our MP, but couldn't answer my question.

Make it more clear for my question, if you do not have money, how do you get your education? Work for money? when your education is not enough, your salaries will be low. The higher education we go for, the more money is needed.

So if your family has low income, you will be hard time fighting for your education. People can go for study loan. so end up after getting your certificate, you are working to repay your loan. So if you have no higher qualification, you might have hard time finding a job with good pay. And base on the fact that cost of living in Singapore is increasing.

So you decide which is more important.

Music in Public Transport
By Steven Meow @ 8:25 AM :: 336 Views :: 5 Comments :: :: The Young Ones, Women, Far and Away: Overseas Singaporeans, The Golden Years : Elderly, REACH Events/Activities/Workgroup Activities, Aspirations for REACH, General

Why some people turn on their music using loudspeaker in the trains/ buses? No consideration for others passengers. recently I was in a train going towards the north area from town. There were this 2 indian, 1 male and 1 female. The female was sitting beside and the male was standing front of her. They were like enjoy the music played from her HP. The music was so loud that people from far was able to hear it.

I couldn't rest in the train so I actually request to them, "Excuse me, do you mind lower down your music volume?" Guess what they replied. "This is the lowerest volume we are playing." Duh! I wasn't very happy so I told them to use the headset/ earpiece. They ignored me. So inconsiderate. What if babies need to rest? or people feel uncomfortable with music while travelling?

For the NSF
By Steven Meow @ 3:13 PM :: 260 Views :: 3 Comments :: :: The Young Ones, The Physically Challenged, REACH Events/Activities/Workgroup Activities, General

Can the government do something about NSF allowance? I don't really see there' any different between regular and NSF job but yet the pay/allowance is like big different. I felt that there's a need to increase more allowance for the NSF since the cost of the living in Singapore is increasing. I believe NSF would want keep some saving for themselve. To say that for basic allowance, NSF are receiving $400/mth which exclude things that are force to pay like NS magazine, fund. So they actually geting LESS than $400/mth.

Many people got a wrong concept that they can save alot of money when serving their NS. I would say most of the percentage of NSF had hard time to save money. Yes, some manage to save money but that's only very small amount of percentage. Transportation is enough to kill the NSF.

Let's say the cost of living in Singapore aren't so high, I believe $400/mth may be should be enough. Sometimes is not how we spend the money but the cost is getting higher even chicken rice also pricing at $3 at coffee shop.

Next, I throught government very willing to help the NSF if there's any problem? I remember I applied financial assistant from SPF, after 1 year, no reply was receive. I did call and check, first few times was like they didn't send now i do not know how's my application. It's been 1 bloody year, yet i receive nothing. even approve or reject i do not know. Why like this? When they need help to work on their things, we contribute but when we try to request for help, nothing was done. If complaint, life will be difficult for me.

And I throught the regular officers should be covering for the NSF, but why it's the other way round? NSF also human, need people to understand.

So I hope some big shot wil get to read this and if can, help to do someting about it and not pin point the people's problems.

Everything Rise Up
By Steven Meow @ 1:36 PM :: 650 Views :: 1 Comments :: :: The Young Ones, Women, The Physically Challenged, The Golden Years : Elderly, REACH Events/Activities/Workgroup Activities, General

The living stardand level is getting higher in Singapore. I can see many people struggling for money. Taxes increase, price will also increase. Salary? I hardly see it increasing but more to decreasing.

Government has push Singapore living standard too fast or too high? I started to see wider gaps between the "rich" class people & the "poor" class people. There is no such things as "middle" class people anymore. There are no worry for the "rich" class people in Singapore but have they really consider on the "poor" class people in Singapore? There are lots of people struggling to live.

Some example. People always focus on educations which i agree it is very important. Let's say your family has financial problems and because of this problem student have to work part-time to help out the household. Student work part-time, they might have problem focusing their studies. Not enough of money to continue your education? Loan comes in to help you but think again really helping? In some way, yes i agree its helping. But some diploma graduated students having hard time pay their loan. While that happens, they still have to struggle their live in-order to follow Singapore living standard. By the time when they are more stable in their finance, I believe they are in late 30s. I'm not saying all the people will be like this but most of them. After that they will be struggling on marriage. Next, Singapore babies are getting lesser. Not because they do not want to give birth to more baby but they are worry that they could not afford. That is why there are more old people. Aging problem will increase if the cost of living continues to rise and more problem will come. Health problem has been going up if you notice. Time is rushing people, do you think so? So how do people and when do people really get to enjoy their life?

Financial assistant, How much can it be help? And how long can you guy wait for the help to come?

What i have just mention are only a small part of problem. Problems can chain up and links together.

To think again for the people who are serving NS. If they having family financial problem. Maybe the only income is from the NSF? Everything bring home only $390. Do you think is enough?

I hope the government can do something about it.
