SPARE A THOUGHT FOR SINGLES

Dear bloggers - lend me your ears

The constant and recent talks of increasing birth rates and providing all forms of benefits for families, make me feel like an alien, totally forgotten by the very country that I tolled so laboriously for the last few decades. Do spare a thought for the singles.

Married couples have each other to share joy, sorrows, love, companionship - it is a union of heart, soul and body. With children, it is a blessing from heaven, to enrich their lives. Have the current governing body considered the plight of the singles? I cannot speak for every singles, but I can definitely speak for myself. I had no one to share my joys, sorrows and love. Let alone companionship. Are there any singles friendly policies coming down the pipeline? With a greying society with increasing singles, more help should also be forthcoming.

When married colleagues need to take urgent leaves, it is the singles that stayed behind.

Remember us, as we too, contribute to building Singapore to what it is today.
