Speaking on the sidelines of an event to raise awareness on breast cancer recently, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Lim Hwee Hua suggested that Medisave be extended to include coverage for mammograms. Similar calls were also made by REACH contributors for the use of Medisave to be extended to include important health screenings.

Dear Sir,

I write with regard to the issue of extending Medifund to HIV patients. I have a few concerns about this.

In a bid to tackle the rising number of loansharking and harassment cases, the Ministry of Home Affairs tabled a series of changes to the Moneylenders Act in Parliament in November 2009.

Contributors who have given feedback on the issue generally lauded the measures, including the proposals to mete out heavier punishment on loansharks, as well as the borrowers who disclose false information to loansharks and put innocent victims in danger.

Why should Permanent Residents (PRs) and non-citizens enjoy the same education rights as Singapore Citizens (SCs)? This issue has been a common bugbear amongst many Singaporeans, including REACH feedback contributors.
