Is there anything wrong to remain "ANONYMOUS"? All of the anonymous' clans think so and still wanted to remain "ANONYMOUS" forever!!!!! Agreed, all those sign-of using 'ANONYMOUS"?????

Nothing wrong with this post.

I have nothing against Anonymous. Merely saying that if you wish to engage someone in a lengthier discourse, it's hard for me to reply, because I do not know which anony is which.

Another point that just came to me,
I can post a comment as anonymous even though I have a sunfacer account here. By repeating myself as an anonymous, I may even over - represent a school of thought.

Anonys have that advantage; possibly even posting a second time to agree with oneself while registered members have a lesser tendency to do so.

Also, while the disadvantage of possibly being singled out as a registered member, the general readers know that good comments(or bad comments or ideas) come from a few people.

In the thread 'the Next General Election', the member son of singapore found that he appreciated the registered members simply because he knew where these comments came from.

This occurence, by itself, speaks for itself.

I believe all comments and feedback are always useful no matter how the tone sounds. There is no need to fear if it is sensible and does not pose some security threat. As someone mentioned, its traceable. So for those willing, the registration process is always available.  Let's be responsible for our words; they are intentional anyway.

Only coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous - Albert Einstein

OWN POSTED REPLY SIGNED OF AS ANONYMOUS

To me, remaining anonymous has several pros and cons.
1) Anony can be more carefree with their words. There is no accountability.

2) It is very difficult to reply to Anony. I can't tell the difference between Anony and Anony. Both same spelling. This actually hampers discourse. Happened several times so far.

3) Even when Anony signs off with a nickname, it is possbile for another character to impersonate and sign off as exactly the same name.
Call me fussy, but I prefer to reply to registered characters.
But why do some people choose to remain anonymous?
Because registration requires your IC number? Afraid that authorities will track down, pursue, arrest and sue for defamation?
I do not believe that Dr Amy Khor is such a personality. I think she is credible.
Or is the registration process too long and difficult?
Why remain anonymous? Would it help if this website requires email rather than IC number?

Like I have replied many a time, the content of the message is more important than who wote it. It'll defeats the purpose of feedback, if all the Anonymous are put off by the needs to register and the forum will be worst off for it.

From what I personally feel, it's more important that whoever writes in, they'll be sensitve with what they write, especially try avoiding insulting the contributor personality, if they disagree with what they write, as it's uncalled for.

If there's a disagreement, rebutt the content in the message, not the writer or their relatives. If you wants other to reply to you, even if you do not wish to register, sign it off with a name, for others who want to reply to you only.

Have a good time writing.

Just my humble views.

Will the government track us down if they find our honest views disturbing?

forums that requires you to register to make postings are DUMB.
if they are afraid of spamming then should adopt OCR pattern as verification for posting.

i've been fustrated with keeping track on the username and password for many forums and often have to send in request for pass retrival which is clumbersome and tedious! why would any intellectual waste 5-10mins to register themselves just to post a comment?

therefore, i applause the decision to allow annoy to post comments here.
i hope it stays this way.

Not only will they track you down, they will also arrest you, lock you up, charge you repeatedly, and if you get to be release on bail, they will order you to report daily at 9am at Police Cantoment Complex for a month including Sunday and public holidays. Just look at what happened to Gopalan Nair when he state his honest but disturbing views on his own blog. (http://singaporedissident.blogspot.com/)

Admin, please don't delete this. I agree that this reply is disturbing but it is true that it had happened.
