Dear Reach Administrator, I am concerned and curious whether the constructive views posted under "Your Discussion Corner" are reviewed and attended to? Or is that basically a playground for citizens to cast views on one another - those who can't make a change basically? Especially when REACH has reserves the right to remove postings at Reach's Discussion Corner...so that I can make a judgment on how my time should be best and well spent. Thank you, I'd appreciate a reply soon.

Dear Reach Administrator,
May I seize this opportunity to seek your help that my wish for a basic informative booklet in four (4) official languages about ' How to bring up proper children during their formative years - 6 month to 6 years old" be coordinated by various Ministries/Agencies and be published?
Presently, many less and lowly educated parents are completely ignorance of basic knowledge of parental-hood resulting children growing up with anti-social, unruly, self-centered, disrespectful and incessant use of foul language. This booklet should be directed to these parents.
If my suggestion is taken up, this booklet should be available free of charge in all government ministries/agencies, community centres and town councils. I believe there will be much sponsorships for this worthy social project.
We all know that we have only human talent as a natural resource. Therefore the future prosperity of our nation will depend largely on our successful youth. But we must start them from very young age.
WARMEST REGARDS

Mr Raymond, as what you've written, these parents are less and lowly educated, how are they to read and understand this book? I believe the school is a more appropriate place to guide their children. The school are setup to give an holistic approach to educating our young and they're well equip to do that.
The responsibility of guiding our young should falls on our trained educators, with the parent having the responsibility to sent their children to school and support the child in whatever requirement that he needs to better himself/herself.
It'll be a daunting task to these lowly or uneducated parents to teach and guide their youngs something that is alien to them or they're lacking in.
Uneducated one.

Dear Anonymous,
I believe in Singapore, education being compulsary, 99% will have received education up to Primary 6 level. As such if the booklet is written in plain and simple languages, these group of parents will surely be able to comprehend it if they want their kids to grow up and be useful persons to the society.
No, teachers and educationists are not the principle persons to guide the development of a child. Parents are, especially during the formative years of kids between 6 months to 6 years old.
Schools are only complementing the work of the parents. Regards
